Crazy on Bangerter Highway

I commute weekdays on Bangerter Hwy between 90th south and SR201 (21st South). It is hair raising and entertaining at the same time. It is a major source of revenue for each city it passes through, by that I mean, traffic tickets. Fortunately I have not been caught, yet, and added to their coffers. What I find very interesting is if I hit my left turn onto Bangerter from 90th just right and the traffic is not too bad, and if I cruise between 60 and 63 MPH, I can make 95% of the lights green. If I drive the posted speed limits of 55 & 50 MPH, then I will stop at 80% of the lights. There are times when the traffic flow is just right, that I can go 100% green through all the lights. The same in the reverse direction. If the lights are by design or my accident sequenced for the 60MPH speed, then why not post the speed limit the same and keep the traffic flowing? Fewer cars idling at stop lights reduces emissions that harm the air and burning fuel unnecessarily.

But I assume the cities along the route would not like this, as it would reduce the number and level of speeding tickets issued, that I am sure generate considerable amount of their operating revenue.

In another post, I will rant about the idiot drivers, cell phone users, etc. (Keep it civil Bob) Things I didn't know you can do in a moving car while driving it...
