The New Prophet, Glenn Beck.

Glenn Beck on his radio program today stated that he is getting messages from God with a plan, a plan this is not a plan. Is this guy delusional? Unfortunately I did not hear the whole story, but it had something to do with 10 reasons Glenn Beck should be president, and one reason is his faith and being told by God what to do to save America. I think he believes in the long held Mormon prophecy that the US will reach a stage that the constitution is held together by a thread and that a righteous Mormon will come to the rescue and save the nation from collapse. Of course Mit Romney probably thinks the same thing.

If he did not have such a large loyal audience, it would be funny. But he does and that could mean many interesting potential outcomes in 2012. If by some strange fluke of the election process and he does become president, I think I will migrate to another country. But on the serious side, one outcome could be to split the Republican Party, especially if Glenn selects Sarah Palin as his running mate and carries several of the state Republican primary elections. Mit Romney and Glenn Beck both Mormons fighting each other for the parties nomination and each claiming they are more in touch with God, as in speed dial in touch.  The wild card for the Republicans will be what the Tea Party does? Will they have their own candidate competing against both the Republican and Democrat candidate or will they join ranks with the Republicans and support Glenn Beck who has been their spokesperson? That could be the electoral fluke that could propel him into the White House. Especially if the Democrats and young voters don't turn out at the polls.

I do think Glenn Beck is becoming more and more dangerous and delusional. Many just pass him off as a noise maker, but I fear that with the mass media platform of FOX cable, he is more dangerous than many give credit. I hope I am wrong and he fades into the background and out of sight.
