Oklahoma Proposes A State Militia

An Oklahoma legislator is preparing a bill to introduce in it's next legislative session to form a state militia, separate from it's national guard troops, to defend the state from federal government aggression. There is distrust of the national guard, as their loyalty may line up with the federal commander and chief (President Obama) or the state commander and chief, that being the state Governor who might be of the opposition party or not agree with the legislature. However, federal law states the President is also the Commander and Chief of all state militias, which has typically been the National Guard. If this lunatic idea spreads across the southern states with it's push for "returning" to republicanism, we are setting up a situation for another civil war. This is very similar to the situation in the late 1850's that set up the southern states in their secession from the union and ultimate war. President Lincoln being a Republican acted more as a Federalist to preserve the union of the states.

It is disconcerting that so many lunatics are in public office, both at the state and federal levels.
