Don't you find it strange that the right-wing rhetoric that Obama is some type of soviet communist socialist and a Nazi fascist because he assumed the financial ball-out program started by the Bush administration, he loaned GM billions to save tens of thousands of jobs and a needed strategic industry and then a economic recovery program that again slowed and now reversed the near economic depression to a deep recession and job growth. Of course his needed health care reform bill that was necessary to have a healthy population and wall street reform bill to reduce the probability of an economic melt down again.
All of these acts were necessary to help the nation recover from decades of unregulated financial manipulation, otherwise we would have been in a deep depression and hundreds of thousand more would be unemployed, tent cities spouting up for those who lost their homes and soup lines that overwhelm charitable organizations.
But to listen to the right-wing rhetoric he should have stopped the TARP program, let more banks fail, bankrupt the FDIC so individuals would loose their savings further, allow GM to fail, and allow anyone who can not afford health insurance to die as a result. But on the other hand, don't touch my social security and medicare. They want it both ways.
Where were they when Bush took their individual freedoms away by voiding Habeas Corpus, wiretapping without a warrant, entering a home or business without a warrant, reading your emails without a warrant, and monitoring your web surfing without a warrant? They were silent. So the bottom line is they are all about money and not individual freedom? As long as they can keep all their money and pay no taxes, who cares about personal freedom. It sounds like ME comes first, then religion and then maybe country, if it doesn't take my money.
That's not Republicanism, it's pure greed and selfishness.
