President Obama's Christmas card this year, see below, is being ridiculed by the Right-Wing (Fox News) as an example of his attack on the Christian meaning of Christmas. After all he's a sleeper cell Muslim waiting to destroy the country. What they are saying is that it lacks any visual or words reference to Jesus or the Christian meaning of the holiday, such as Merry Christmas. There is no images of baby Jesus or Mary or other Christian symbols of their holiday. There is no Christmas tree, but a poinsettia plant on a table with the gifts underneath and their dog, Bo, in front of a fireplace in the private quarters of the White House.
This plays into their claim that there is a liberal war against Christmas as a religious holiday by using statements like: Have A Happy Holidays and Season's Greetings instead of Merry Christmas. Of course you don't hear this same right-wing group wish Happy Hanukkah to the Jews or Joyous Kwanzaa to African-Americans or Merry Winter Solstice or even Happy Yule Tide to Pagans. No, it all about their Jesus, period, no matter what your faith or lack thereof might be.
They also attacked him for taking Bo to Petsmart to shop. As any pet owner knows, Petsmart encourages pet owners to bring their pets to the store when they shop. To attack him for do so is just ridiculous and shows their true hate of him. Does anyone remember the Christmas video the George W. Bush did about Barney? No angry comments from the left; just laughter at the humor of the video.
Now compare the President Obama card above to the Ronald Reagan Christmas Card of 1983, below:
Did you notice there is no reference to Jesus or Christmas as well. I don't recall one progressive accusing Pres. Reagan for a war against Christmas.
In a time that you all sing in support of Peace On Earth, Good Will Toward Men, why do you make such hateful accusations and want to go to war with Iran, not pull out of our nearly decade long occupation of Iraq and Afghanistan. Were is the Peace On Earth you claim to want?
I truly don't understand them at all. So full of contradictions to their proclaimed convictions and faith.
Can someone please educate me as to why this is so?
