Now Obama's plan reduced Medicare's budget by reducing fraud and errors in billing, which they have done very well at. The reduction in doctor payments are a result of President Bush's legislation when it passed the Part D prescription drug plan that created a matrix to reduce doctor reimbursement in order to pay for the prescription drug benefit. Pres. Obama has been trying to get legislation that would change the compensation model to keep doctors in the plan and paid a fair reimbursement for their services. The Republicans have filibustered the legislation and thus every few months congress has to pass an extension of the current payment amounts to keep doctors on the plan. Otherwise the Bush law would reduce their fees by 35%, which would make payment below actual cost of delivering the care to the Medicare patient. Thus for every Medicare patient they see, they would loose money, not make money, not even cover their overhead..

Mitt Romney Lies About Medicare and Obama
Mitt Romney lies so easily. This clip is him saying that Pres. Obama has not put forth a plan to deal with entitlements, which are not actually entitlements, but programs that all working person's pay into. He claims Pres. Obama is going to change Medicare as we know it. WHAT! First of all Romney supports the voucher plan of Rep. Ryan's budget which would only pay for part of the private health insurance premium, if you can even find a plan for seniors, and the senior, let's say living only on Social Security, which he wants to privatize also, would have to spend an additional $6,000 a year for the premium above the voucher value. Most Social Security recipients are receiving about $12,000 a year or less. Plus they have to pay income tax on that 12,000, so that leaves very little for living on.
Now Obama's plan reduced Medicare's budget by reducing fraud and errors in billing, which they have done very well at.
