Uganda: Imprison and Execute all Homosexuals

Uganda has passed a law that authorized imprisonment and execution of gays. Also imprisonment for 3 years of anyone who knows a gay and does not report them to the government. This law was lobbied by a minister frequently appearing on the "Saddle-back" televangelist TV show and by Uganda's president who is a member of the "Family" the C street Christian activist organization that many senators and congress persons are members of.

So far none of the American legislators associated with the Family have condemned this action by Uganda and repudiate the American minister that lobbied for this law. This law is a direct affront to basic human rights. Are we about to see another genocide developing around the globe as this organization push similar laws in other 3rd world nations, then eventually 1st world countries? It is well known that American politicians who are members of the Family have traveled to most despots to recruit them into the Family. Membership give them access to these American legislators and other government officials who are members. It is unknown how many European politicians might be members. If you visit their web site you will see all the countries they are involved in. It is truly a global political power organization.

In Uganda:
The bill's author, lawmaker David Bahati, says the legislation is about promoting family values. "Homosexuality is not part of the human rights we believe in," he said.

Rights groups say gays and lesbians already face illegal detention and abuse under Uganda's current laws, a situation that is likely to worsen if the bill is passed.

"Certain provisions in this bill are illegal. They are also immoral," said Kate Sheill, Amnesty International's expert on sexual rights, in a statement with 16 other rights groups.

"They criminalise a sector of society for being who they are, when what the government should be doing instead is protecting them from discrimination and abuse."

Museveni has been quoted in that local media as saying that homosexuality is a Western import, joining some Ugandan and continental religious leaders who believe it is un-African.

This is what my brother has to say about it:

In fact Uganda is an official co-chair of the current World Commonwelth meetings that are being held now. We're not just talking about not granting gays basic equal rights, as we are in the USA. In Uganda the proposed bill is to KILL gays and lesbians because they are evil. The only religious organizations that have made official denouncements have been the USA & Canadian Episcopal & Anglican Churches and the United Church of Christ. All others have remained silent. A newspaper called The Catholic News Source has charged that gays have brought this on themselves by pressing for acceptance and equal rights around the world. Have Christians forgotten or have they never understood the teachings of Jesus Christ in the New Testament?

We have sent in troops for lesser offenses against humanity around the world. Yet this is not even making the nightly news or newspapers here in the USA. I guess that in itself, speaks volumes.
