Religion and Science

I found it very interesting today while watching the History Channel about religion and science a theologian stated, "I ask science to disprove the existence of God." Now any logical, reasoned thinking person knows that it is impossible to disprove something that does not exist. Science is the process of proving what DOES exist. Science use theories that can be tested over and over again and the outcome is the same. It is a process of test and observation. It is not belief or faith. Since there has been many scientific attempts to prove the existence of God and in every case have failed to do so, one can accept the outcome that God does not exist.

But what of the metaphysical, paranormal phenomenon of prophecy?  What about the afterlife?

For me it is actually very simple and recently there has been scientific investigation that is validating there is a time/space dimension parallel to our linear physical time and space experience.  Here is the theory. Energy is the core of all time and space. Energy is what was emitted in the Big Bang that has formed our visible universe, and in turn has been the genius of of all life and matter. When the next generation is developed through what we call the Birds and the Bees of some sort, energy is passed from the parent to the offspring. Since energy is obtained through sun light and other energy from space transferred via the food we eat to our physical being, the parent replenishes the energy given to their offspring. Likewise the offspring grows with additional energy form the same sources. This ingesting energy and expelling heat energy continues until our physical death. Our personality is a form of energy or for those who believe in religion you can call this the soul, leaves the physical dimension we know and enters the parallel dimension, again those of faith would call this heaven. In this dimension time and space is not linear and what we would call time travel is easily done.

The individuals we call prophets, seers, mediums, clairvoyants and psychics are able to feel through their neurological system the energy of those who have died and existing in this other dimension. Therefore some of the noted prophetic claims by those like Nostradamus, Isaac Newton, Jesus, John the writer of the Book of Revelation, Edgar Cayce, to mention a few, had this unique neurological ability to feel impressions and images, and all have made prophecies of what might happen in the future, from their point in time.

Could have these prophets received futuristic information from those who have died?  That would explain how they are able to proclaim such prophecies. Obviously when these prophetic events take place, we then call them as either prophets of God or as possessed by demons. Why are some considered possessed? Because they are not claiming to be speaking for God through an organized religious revelation.

I do feel that some individuals with this ability, including Jesus, used this power to manipulate people for their own personal or political gain. My guess is that Abraham, Jesus, and Joseph Smith all used it for obtaining power and followers and eventually some level of political power and in the case of Smith, gained personal riches as well.

As science validates the existence of these paranormal phenomenon and the existence of the parallel dimension, our understanding of religion will change and may in time eliminate it.
