Why did America reject those who reversed the loss of job?

You will notice in the chart below how bad the job loss was under President Bush. After President Obama assumed office you can clearly see the reversal of the job loss and modest, but steady job growth. What will it look like in a few months with the Republicans controlling the House? I would wager that it will start to trend into the loss side again. Just be the loss of government jobs through their budget reduction plan will add tens of thousand to the unemployed. That then reduces the number of people able to pay for their homes and purchases other goods that drives the economy. How smart is that?
