Anti-Government Conspiratorial Theories and How To Make Money:

I watched a documentary last night about the current KKK and how they have become much more sophisticated in manipulating political will. They have teamed up with the gun manufacturers and the NRA so they can get even more military weapons. Today the organization has also joined with the Libertarians in the push to over throw the government.

They have gone far beyond the racial, ethnic and religious bigotry. They want to eliminate the current government and install one that deports everyone that is not white-European decent protestant, regardless of citizenship status.

They learned that marches in the street didn't push their cause, but alliances with these other factions did.  Their evangelical Protestant position fit very nicely with those religious extremists in also over throwing the government to install a theocracy.

There have been members of the KKK in our congress since post civil war. But they were very few and spread between the two political parties and didn't have enough support to push much in the way of legislation, except the anti-immigration. But then they learned that the GOP was an easy vehicle to manipulate with their coalition to drive legislation they want.

When we elected the first black president, they and so many quiet racists went insane with fear and hate.  The Klan's and other similar organization's membership has shot up to levels they've never seen before and they have taken full advantage of that growth. They now know how to lobby fearful senators and congressmembers both with political power through their coalition, money and fear of assassination.

When you add the Koch brothers money and organization, ALEC, the Libertarian Party and the Libertarian caucus of the GOP now called the Tea Party with the money of the Christian Coalition and add to this mix the anti-regulation, anti-tax Wall Street backers, we end up with a very dangerous political party whose only goal is to bring down the government.

So here is another dot to add to the many connecting dots of the underlying movements that are plaguing our culture and nation today.

Today in Hyperbole: President Obama the Klan Punisher

 -
The American Family Association's Bryan Fischer has a new and typically innovative theory about the motivations of President Obama. To wit (with our own annotations):
"And I believe I understand now what Barack Obama is about.1 And it is intentional, it is not ineptitude on his part,2 it is intentional and his mission in life is to punish the United States for being a racist country.3 That's what drives him, it's what animates him, it's what energizes every single thing he does4 to punish this country, to cut it down to size, to wound it, to hurt it, to damage it, to diminish it in order to punish the United States for being a racist country.5
To Barack Obama, the entire United States of America is one big, giant Ku Klux Klan6 and the Constitution, for Barack Obama, is the membership charter for this giant Ku Klux Klan7 ... And I honestly believe8 that this is how Barack Obama sees the United States of America; one big, giant Ku Klux Klan meeting9 and it's his job to punish the Ku Klux Klan, which is the United States of America in his worldview."10
1 — i.e. I've spent weeks thinking up something even less reality-based than my previous crack-pottery.
2  Not ineptitude? Bryan Fischer, I'm starting to question your commitment to this cause…
3 — A country so racist, that it would elect someone named Barack Hussein Obama to be its president. Possibly twice.
4 Drives, animates, energizes---Roget's Thesaurus salutes your use of active synonymous verbs, sir!
5 Look at what he wears. Look at his family. Listen to how he speaks. Clearly Barack Obama is a rage-filled instrument of pure vengeance.
6 This info will come as a HUGE surprise to the millions of non white male protestants who live in this country. Bit of a membership shocker for the Klan, too, I suspect.
7 He must have learned that in one of those radical liberal civics madrassas used to indoctrinate Hawaiian kids.
8 When people say, "I honestly believe" -- they honestly don't.
9 Does he mean a big giant meeting of the Klan or a meeting of big giant Klansmen? Giant Klansmen—now there's a Marvel comics villain. Avengers Assemble!
10 And how does he punish the Klan? By passing health care and killing Osama bin Laden. BAM! Want some more? Huh? Huh….?

Chronicling Mitt's Mendacity, Vol. XIII

Mitt Romney recently felt comfortable lecturing journalists about, of all things, "quality control" when sharing the news with the American public.

As Ed Kilgore joked, "Now I suppose when you have already developed a reputation for towering mendacity on subjects large and small, a medium-sized lie about your views on media accuracy is as easy as changing those jeans and a lot easier than changing your entire political persona on a regular basis. But you might think at some point the man would fear being struck down by a thunderbolt right on the spot if he lectures the media -- old or new -- about 'sourcing' and 'quality control.'"

If the presumptive Republican nominee has any such fears, he's not showing it. Those looking for proof need only consider the 13th installment of my weekly series, chronicling Mitt's mendacity.

1. Romney told voters about the cost of the Affordable Care Act, "[W]e've just learned from the CBO, it's not a trillion dollars. It's more like double that.... Obamacare is massively more expensive than had been originally estimated."

That's not even close to being true.

2. On the same subject, Romney argued, "Thirty percent of employers said they are going to drop the coverage for their employees when Obamacare is installed."

Actually, no, they didn't say that at all.

3. He said he would save "about $100 billion a year" eliminating Obamacare.

That's not only absurdly untrue, it's actually backwards -- scrapping the entirety of the Affordable Care Act would add hundreds of billions of dollars to the debt.

4. Romney claimed Obama had created an "unaccountable panel, with the power to prevent Medicare from providing certain treatments."

That's simply not true.

5. Romney argues in a new fundraising letter that the numbers for unemployment, bankruptcies, and foreclosures are "soaring."

Actually, that's the exact opposite of the truth -- unemployment, bankruptcies, and foreclosures are all falling.

6. Romney claims in the same mailing that Obama stood over "the greatest job loss in modern American history."

7. Romney went on to argue, "President Obama has mortgaged our future, increased the budget by more than 20% and allowed our debt to skyrocket."

The debt has increased (thanks to Bush-era policies), but the budget hasn't increased by more than 20%.

8. Romney told voters in Philadelphia this week, "This president did not cause the recession; he just made it worse and made it longer."

There's no way around the fact that Romney's simply lying. He knows he's lying because he's also said the American economy has improved under Obama.

9 Romney argued repeatedly this week, "Women account for 92.3 percent of the jobs lost under Obama."

10 The Romney campaign and its surrogates spent all day Thursday describing Hillary Rosen as an "advisor to the Obama campaign."

Hillary Rosen is not an advisor to the Obama campaign.

11. Romney argued yesterday, "President Obama is the first president in history to openly campaign for reelection on a platform of higher taxes. He has already raised taxes on millions of Americans, but he won't stop there. He wants to raise taxes on millions more by taxing small businesses and job creators."

That's actually three lies in one paragraph.

12. On a Romney campaign conference call yesterday, a campaign spokesperson said the Obama administration needs to "stop disrespecting stay-at-home moms."

The Obama administration has never disrespected stay-at-home moms, and when pressed for evidence to back up the charge, the Romney campaign couldn't think of anything.

Paul Krugman noted this week, "Mitt Romney's campaign is setting new standards in serial dishonesty. Really. He makes Bush look like a font of truth and accuracy."

That's more than fair, though the question is no longer whether Romney has a problem telling the truth -- he clearly does -- but rather whether he'll face any electoral consequences for recklessness.

HAPPY DARWIN DAY!

Happy Darwin Day!

Here is a clip from the Rachel Maddow show celebrating Darwin's 200th Birthday.  Below her clip is another clip of Pat Robertson demonizing Darwin. Notice the contrast.
